Each piece of Gentle Storm jewelry is handcrafted and requires delicate care.

We use classic technics. Thanks to this fact our products represent the properties of precious metals they are made of, which gives them a unique character. Precious metals are changing naturally with time, and these essential valor are increasing and highlighting their unique character.

Gold and silver atoms interact with one another to form strong metallic bonds, and they have almost no chemical interaction with the atmosphere, besides humidity.

In Paris, we work with artisans with decades of experience, they taught us how to care for our products.

Our products

Silver

925 Sterling silver

925 sterling silver contains 92.5% of pure silver and naturally oxidizes with time when exposed to air, or in contact with the skin. To prevent this process we plate all our silver products with Rhodium.

It is hypoallergenic, extremely lustrous, and highly durable.

The rarest and most expensive platinum group metal on the planet, even more so than gold or platinum. Rhodium-plated sterling silver does not oxidize or change its color with time and has greater scratch resistance.

All these qualities make rhodium perfect for jewelry, and due to the hardness and brittleness of the metal, rhodium is used in jewelry only to plate other metals such as gold, platinum, and silver.

Rhodium

Store jewelry in an original box, without direct sun exposure, in a dry place.

Dry your jewelry carefully after it gets wet, i.e. after washing your hands, and avoid taking a shower in it.

We recommend gently drying and cleaning only using a soft cloth without any chemicals. Avoid using polishing pastes.

The top layer of Rhodium may naturally wear off over time. Naturally, jewelry worn more often or on daily basis is more exposed to these processes, when occasional wear will prevent it and keep the natural gold color for long a time.

Care

Please do not store your jewelry on other metal surfaces, inside metal boxes, or together with other jewelry pieces or together with any other jewelry pieces or metal objects

Silver is considered a soft metal, and contact with other metals of the unknown production process may not only cause tarnishing but also mechanical scratches.

Silver like most precious metals reacts strongly with Chlorine, Bromine, Florine, and Iodine, so we highly suggest avoiding any universal cleaning sprays or any cleaning substances which may contain even trace amounts of these elements.

Always avoid a humid environment and store jewelry in a dry place without direct sun exposure.

There are many technics on the market that can give a product a gold look which in fact, maybe no be 18K gold, or not gold at all.

Types of gold

24K

Contains 100% of pure gold and it’s used for fine jewelry.

Contains 75% of pure gold and is used for the highest standard jewelry in the luxury segment. This type of gold is used to plate all our gold products.

18K

14K gold contains only 50% of gold and is used in the lower-end jewelry segment, while 9K gold contains barely 37.5% of gold and is used in the lower-end jewelry segment, often during mechanical production.

14K and 9K

Gold

18K gold vermeil refers to gold-plated sterling silver. Gold vermeil, or just vermeil, is a term used to refer to jewelry made of silver and coated with gold. The word vermeil comes from French and is pronounced ver-may.

18K

3 microns

Our 18K gold plating is 3 microns thick, which is 3 times thicker than the 1-micron industry standard. This gives your jewelry longer life, but it’s still important to remember that even this thick layer, is still a delicate coat with 3/1000 of a millimeter.

Precious sensitivity

The type of gold used during production determines its character, that’s why the product plated with 9ct gold will be less sensitive and won’t react in the environment in which 18ct gold plated product will.
